This week, we continue our study of the Old Testament by seeking to better understand the plagues in Exodus 7-12. These are not simply creative punishments against the Egyptians but are instead a direct assault on the spiritual powers that lead to Empire. They are Yahweh dealing with the root causes of slavery and oppression so that his people--and, through them, the whole world--can truly live free.
